What’s appealing about arts and entertainment is this idea that you can put really interesting ideas, cultural ideas, into stories and that the stories are something that everybody can take in. Everybody wants to be moved to laugh and to cry, and to feel more connected. (x)

The Hollywood sign originally said “Hollywoodland” when it was installed in 1923. The last four letters were deleted when the sign was refurbished in 1949.
